Overview

The construction of large bridges and related infrastructure, often in crowded urban or sensitive areas, demands specialized construction systems and expertise. STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES / VSL, along with our global network of equipment, gantries, and engineering support, is dedicated to developing unique solutions tailored to your project’s requirements.

No matter the complexity or challenges of a project, STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES / VSL has a proven track record of delivering customized engineered solutions. We specialize in lifting, lowering, and sliding precast segments precisely into place or constructing massive cast-in- place cantilevers.

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the exclusive manufacturer of VSL post-tensioning products and construction systems in the United States. Our manufacturing facilities in the United States are certified by PTI’s Plant Certification Program to ensure the highest quality fabrication of materials.

Modular Form Travelers

Designed for balanced cantilever concrete brides, STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES / VSL’s form traveler system is an economical and efficient construction method. It incorporates a robust framework that minimizes deflections during concrete placement. We engineer these highly adaptable systems for a variety of segment lengths, depths and structure.

Precast Segmental Construction Methods

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES has extensive experience erecting various types of precast bridge structures. Our capabilities include utilizing launching girders, beam launchers, and lifting frames capable of positioning precast beams behind, below, or in parallel to the erection system.

Incremental Launching Method

For straight or continuously curved bridges, STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES employs an efficient incremental launching method to reduce construction costs and accelerate project timelines. Segments are cast in a dedicated casting bed at the bridge abutment, connected sequentially, and launched using VSL hydraulic jacks. We provide comprehensive equipment, engineering, reinforcing materials and experienced crews for this innovative approach.
